Kyla

Cane Corso · Female · Young · 2 years

Looking for a giant cuddle bug with a wonderfully goofy personality? Meet Kyla! Kyla is a two-year-old Cane Corso with a huge heart and an even bigger love for the people she knows. She adores cuddles, loves leaning into you for fuss and is guaranteed to make you smile with her playful zoomies and silly antics. Whether she’s snoozing beside you, exploring the garden or playing with a canine friend, Kyla simply loves being part of the family. She has lovely social skills with other dogs and has lived happily alongside canine companions, making her a great match for a home with another suitable dog. Like many guarding breeds, she can initially be sensitive around unfamiliar people and new places, but she has shown that with patient guidance and positive reinforcement she grows in confidence and makes excellent choices. Kyla can live with teenagers and would be best suited to a quiet location where she can settle into a calmer environment. A private garden would also be ideal for her, giving her plenty of space to relax and enjoy some time outdoors. Kyla can be strong on lead at times, so her new owners will need to be confident handling a large, powerful dog and continue working on her lead skills. Kyla is looking for experienced owners who will continue helping her build confidence while enjoying everything this affectionate, loyal and entertaining young dog has to offer. If you’re looking for a best friend with a soft heart, a playful spirit and endless cuddles to give, Kyla could be the perfect addition to your family. About Kyla

What life with Kyla looks like

Kyla is a medium-sized young adult cane corso dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kyla, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kyla?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kyla on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kyla if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kyla already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kyla isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kyla and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
