Magic

Cane Corso · Male · Adult · 4 years

Magic can live with children of secondary-school age. As we have no history for Magic, his new family will need to be prepared to help him with his house training and introduce him to car travel gradually. He walks well on a harness, although he can pull when he becomes excited. Magic is a fun-loving, affectionate boy with so much potential. With patience, consistency and plenty of encouragement, we think he will make a wonderful addition to the right family. Magic came into our care with a docked tail. Tail docking is illegal in the UK, except for essential medical reasons or for certain breeds of working dogs. We are against unnecessary tail docking and do not condone it. Magic is a lovely 4-year-old Staffy/Cane Corso cross who is looking for a patient and understanding home where he can continue to build his confidence. Magic was found as a stray, so sadly we have no history for him and he can take a little time to warm up to new people and situations, but once he feels comfortable, his personality really starts to shine. He loves getting excited, playing with his toys and showing off his best zoomies! His cuddles are absolutely adorable, and he will happily enjoy some affection once he has built a bond with you. Magic will benefit from a home that can help him gain confidence and give him the time he needs to adjust to new experiences. He enjoys the company of other dogs but is currently learning some manners, so would prefer to be the only dog in the home but would love owners that are willing to work on his social skills.

About Magic

What life with Magic looks like

Magic is an adult cane corso dog waiting at Dogs Trust Cardiff in Cardiff.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Magic, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Magic?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Cardiff handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Magic on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Magic if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Cardiff will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Magic already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Magic isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Cardiff early rather than rehoming privately; they know Magic and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
