La Pauli &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male

The young Labrador-male dog is searching for a new home due to the separation of his owners and an upcoming move. He comes from a young family in the Bayreuth region and has lived in his previous home since puppyhood. There, he grew up with two young children and has always been friendly and open with people. Typical Labrador, La Pauli is an alert, curious, and lively young dog. Sometimes he can be a bit distant and stormy – fitting for his age and current pubertal phase. He therefore still requires loving, but consistent training and clear guidance to develop into a balanced companion. La Pauli is sociable and gets along well with fellow animals. He also knows and respects cats. Typical of the breed, he shows interest in birds and ducks but is approachable and responsive. Leaving him alone in his previous home was not a problem; he could stay calmly alone for several hours without barking or destroying anything. However, this should be gradually rebuilt in a new home, as a move and new trusted people are initially a change for every dog. He masters car rides without issues. In everyday life, he shows no complications: cyclists, joggers, passersby, or large crowds do not faze him. One can even walk with him through large groups of children without worry. He also meets large animals like horses or cows calmly and without special reaction. In some situations, he initially shows a bit of insecurity and barks briefly, but he quickly orientates himself to his people. La Pauli is playful, an absolute water rat, and loves his trusted people more than anything. Attention, shared activities, and generous cuddle sessions are among the most beautiful things in his life.

DE·Show original

About La Pauli &#8211

What life with La Pauli &#8211 looks like

La Pauli &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierhilfe Franken e.V. in Lauf.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting La Pauli &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about La Pauli &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Franken e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw La Pauli &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt La Pauli &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Franken e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is La Pauli &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if La Pauli &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Franken e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know La Pauli &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
