[ Life after the lab ] Bounty, a Golden Retriever rehabilitated by GRAAL almost 3 months ago, is now living happy days in his new family! Elsa, his mistress, who at 14 years old is also the youngest volunteer at GRAAL, shares her testimony: We welcomed Bounty into our home a little more than two months ago. He is a very kind and playful dog, despite his past. He is a dog who, thanks to GRAAL, has been rehabilitated! Indeed, since I met the association, I kept insisting with my parents to adopt a dog from experimentation. One day, they agreed and sent an email to the rehabilitation department of GRAAL. A week later, we were in contact with researchers! The choice was extremely difficult because all the dogs deserve to leave the laboratory! What I feared the most was that Bounty would not be kind with my other animals: it's true that seeing cats and chickens is not very common behind the bars! But Noupo, our other dog, is the role model and acts as "father" for Bounty, who is still young! During the first days, Bounty learned to be a normal dog: climbing stairs, going down, sleeping on the couch, walking on a leash, running... He still has some fears like noises, sudden movements, open doors... But he is progressing quickly! Today, Bounty is really respectful towards my other animals, he loves to sleep on the couch and above all enjoys gnawing his toys in the garden. I am very happy that he is now part of our family! [ La vie après le labo ] Bounty, un Golden Retriever réhabilité par le GRAAL il y a bientôt 3 mois, coule désormais des jours heureux dans sa nouvelle famille ! Elsa, sa maîtresse, qui à 14 ans est aussi la plus jeune bénévole du GRAAL, nous fait part de son témoignage : Nous avons accueilli Bounty chez nous il y a un petit peu plus de deux mois. C’est un chien très gentil et très joueur, malgré son passé . C’est un chien qui, grâce au GRAAL , a été réhabilité ! En effet, depuis que j’ai connu l’association, je ne faisais qu’insister auprès de mes parents pour aller adopter un chien issu de l’expérimentation . Un jour, ils ont accepté et ont en voyé un mail au pôle réhabilitation du GRAAL. Une semaine plus tard, nous étions en contact avec des chercheurs ! Le choix fut extrêmement compliqué car tous les chiens méritent de sortir du laboratoire ! Ce que je craignais le plus c’est que Bounty ne soit pas gentil avec mes autres animaux : c’est vrai que voir des chats et des poules ce n’est pas très commun derrière les barreaux ! Mais Noupo, notre autre chien, le cadre et fait le « papa » pour Bounty, qui est encore jeune ! Durant les premiers jours, Bounty a appris à être un chien normal : monter les escaliers, les descendre, dormir sur le canapé, marcher en laisse, courir… Il a encore quelques peurs comme les bruits, les mouvements brusques, les portes entrouvertes… Mais il progresse vite ! Aujourd’hui Bounty est vraiment très respectueux avec mes autres animaux, il adore dormir sur le canapé et aime par dessus tout grignoter ses jouets dans le jardin. Je suis très heureuse qu’il fasse maintenant partie de notre famille ! Comme Bounty, de nombreux chiens de laboratoire comptent sur le GRAAL pour leur offrir une retraite en famille.
