Lady

Female · Adult · 4 years

Lady came as a found dog to a small animal shelter in Andalusia. In early May, she traveled to one of our foster homes in Berlin. The Bodeguero-Mix female dog is about 4 years old, stands around 45 cm at the shoulder, and weighs approximately 12 kg. Lady is a friendly and outgoing female dog who quickly and easily settled into the daily routine of her foster home. She greets all people openly and warmly and enjoys every form of attention and affection. Cuddles are her favorite – sometimes so much so that she needs to be gently reminded to take a break. From the start, Lady was house-trained. She already runs well on a leash and calms down wonderfully in the house. Overall, she shows herself to be an agreeable and balanced roommate. In her foster home, Lady lives with another dog and is well socialized with fellow animals. However, she would most like to enjoy the closeness and attention of her people entirely on her own. Therefore, we wish for her a home as a single dog. Regular contact with other dogs during walks or in the open should still be second nature to her. Even staying alone for short periods is already going well together with the existing dog. Lady masters the city traffic, bicycles, and loud everyday noises with sovereign ease and is not fazed by them. For Lady, we are looking for active people who like to spend time in nature and enjoy exploring the world together with her. Thanks to her open and uncomplicated nature, we can imagine Lady well with a family with understanding children as well as with engaged first-time dog owners. Lady is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, tested for Mediterranean diseases, and will be rehomed with an EU pet passport. If you are interested in Lady, please send us a message with your name and telephone number. Please provide a few telling details about your potential new home, such as being alone, dog experience, and living situation, so that we can get a good idea of her daily life with you.

About Lady

What life with Lady looks like

Lady is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Hundehilfe Spanien e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lady, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lady?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundehilfe Spanien e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lady on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lady if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundehilfe Spanien e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lady already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lady isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundehilfe Spanien e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lady and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
