Laguna

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Laguna has found her people! Her story: Laguna is a female cat, approximately one year old. She has a very affectionate personality and loves to be stroked and cuddled. At first, she is a bit shy, but once she relaxes, she shows her loving side. She loves to purr at her trusted people's feet when she is particularly happy and content. The story of Laguna is sad, as she was abandoned and searched for food and water in an area where people chased her away and even threatened to poison her. People wanted to get rid of her because she sought warmth on cars and the owners feared their cars might get scratched. Despite these difficult circumstances, Laguna has maintained her affectionate personality and deserves a loving home where she feels safe and loved. Laguna gets along well with other cats and could also live as a single cat, provided she doesn't have to be alone for long and receives a lot of attention from her people. She is also compatible with dogs, making her a good companion for those who can't decide between a dog and a cat. However, she should not have access to the outdoors as she has had negative experiences in the past. Before the sweet kitten moves into its new home, it, like all our cats and tomcats, will be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. It will also be tested for FIV and FeLV. And her EU pet passport will be packed in her travel bag. Many thanks, dear Silvie S, for supporting so many cats with your name sponsorships. As of: 13.05.

Stand: 13.05.2024

About Laguna

What life with Laguna looks like

Laguna is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Laguna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Laguna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Laguna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Laguna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Laguna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Laguna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Laguna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
