adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Lancelot has been in the "Gini House," a shelter operated by the organization, for a long time, where friendly and knowledgeable people take care of him. He has slowly built trust with his caregivers and now shows a different side. He is friendly and cuddly, loves walks, and shows no aggression. His beautiful, blonde fur is beginning to shine, and the dark eyes still look full of hope for a better future. Lancelot, who is around 6 years old, stands at 65 cm shoulder height and weighs between 30 to 35 kg, is a tall and stately male dog. And as it often happens, he was wronged due to his strong and large appearance. A fearful and aggressive reaction was attributed to him. Lancelot was picked up by a woman from the street as a stray and confined to a kennel. When she tried to tie him up, he got tangled in the leash and became panicky. Lancelot bit out, likely because he was unfamiliar with the leash and collar and was completely overwhelmed by the stressful situation. From that point on, Lancelot was considered aggressive and was turned over to the shelter by dog catchers and the police. Lancelot was fortunate, as in Romania, a "biting stray" often faces a much worse fate. Additionally, he now has the chance to be seen and adopted by friendly and understanding people. We are looking for adopters experienced with dogs who are willing to give Lancelot time to adjust and to remain consistent and constant in his presence. A visit to a positively working dog training class would surely please Lancelot and strengthen his bond with his new family. Probably, Lancelot has never lived in a house and is unfamiliar with house training or the other rules of family life. Therefore, children should be old enough to handle a large dog thoughtfully and responsibly. We wish for Lancelot, given his size and energy, a family living in a rural area with an enclosed yard. Do you want to be the person who offers Lancelot a new, better life and a second chance? After a positive adoption, many thanks to Carola S.! You have given Lancelot a name and thus an identity. Date: 20.04. This animal was surrendered to the shelter. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank an Carola S.!

About Lancelot

What life with Lancelot looks like

Lancelot is a extra-large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lancelot, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lancelot?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lancelot on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lancelot if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lancelot already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lancelot isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lancelot and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
