Lani

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Lani, a 3-year-old Labrador Retriever, lived in Romania under very difficult conditions. Her former owner kept her chained in a bird aviary. When Lani came to our shelter, she quickly showed herself to be a very people-oriented and friendly dog. At the same time, her past has left its mark. In the shelter, she even managed to escape from her kennel three times. Despite everything, Lani found a home. There, it is now apparent that she is still uncertain and skeptical when meeting other dogs. Encounters can currently be associated with barking and pulling on the leash. Therefore, we are looking for people for Lani who will show her with calmness, patience, and understanding that she can learn to meet other dogs safely and relaxed. At home, Lani is an active dog who likes to be busy. She loves toys and needs both physical and mental stimulation. She enjoys walks on a leash and also enjoys long cuddling sessions with her humans. Driving is no problem for Lani - and she also loves water. For Lani, we are looking for empathetic and experienced people who are willing to give her the time and space she needs. People who can recognize and correctly interpret her signals and give her loving consistency, security, and orientation. Lani is not a dog for people who expect quick results. She needs someone who listens to her, understands her, and walks her step by step on her path. Lani is spayed, chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and dewormed. She has an EU pet passport and can move into her home after a positive preliminary check and against a deposit. Who gives Lani this chance gets a lively, affectionate, and lovable dog by her side, who still has to learn how beautiful a safe and loving home can be. Thank you Jessica B.! You gave Lani her name! Herzlichen Dank Jessica B.! Du hast Lani ihren Namen geschenkt! Stand: 21.09.2026

About Lani

What life with Lani looks like

Lani is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lani, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lani?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lani on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lani if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lani already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lani isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lani and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
