Adopt Larion

Male · Adult · 6 years

Native Country: Hungary The beautiful Larion was found on May 23, 2025, wandering homeless in Kecskemét and reported to the animal shelter by attentive passersby. Fortunately, the shelter staff were able to catch Larion unharmed and bring them to Menhely. During the chip check, they found something, but the chip was not registered and thus worthless. No one had reported Larion as missing, as always, it remains unclear to us. Larion has completed the quarantine period and is waiting to be discovered by their new human family and go on an adventure with them. Larion is a friendly, lively, and lovable fellow who has adapted quite well to his new situation. However, the animal shelter is pure stress for him, and he would rather exchange Menhely for his own home today or tomorrow. He is happy when given some time and attention, and he enjoys every pat and affection, but unfortunately, the time for that is very limited with so many dogs. Larion is in the best age and wants to be mentally and physically challenged and nurtured. However, at the beginning, it also stands for him: learning and solidifying the dog basics. But he is a clever fellow, and it will surely be a lot of fun working and training with him. He also needs enough quiet phases, which are important for him. He lives with Twix-4 and Johara in a kennel together, which works well (as of April 20, 2026). Our wonderful Larion wishes for an adventurous home with dog- and breed-experienced people who love and value the nature and character of these dogs. Nice two-legged beings who can earn his trust, who give him a clear but loving guidance, and who can show him what is in him. Active people who can give him security, care, love, and safety, which he so desperately needs. Many snuggling hours, dog-appropriate stimulation, and beautiful, varied walks will make Larion a happy four-legged friend, and he will accompany his people faithfully through life. On August 11, 2025, a voluntary, Hungarian helper writes: "Larion came into the care of the animal shelter in May 2025. On the mentor day, we met him at the shelter playground. Larion is people-oriented, child-friendly, lovable, friendly, and trusting. The situation he finds himself in is still unfamiliar to him. The affection and friendliness of the mentors have done him good. He enjoyed being petted and spoiled. He loves it when the ball is thrown, and he also brings it back. A ball is always good for him, he carries it back and forth. With it, he can be well occupied and motivated. He lives with several other dogs in a run. On the leash, he is leadable." On April 19, 2026, an Hungarian animal shelter staff member writes: "Larion is a real stroke of luck. This male dog with German Shepherd character unites intelligence and heart in a special way. He is very smart, attentive, and has a great desire to please his human. With other dogs, he is exceptionally friendly and loving, a truly social dog. On the leash, he runs beautifully and orientates well to his primary caregiver. If you are looking for a companion who is always happy to be along on every adventure and with whom you can be proud to be on the road, then Larion is the ideal choice for you." Who will enter a lifelong dog-human partnership with Larion? Larion is ready to travel.

About Larion

What life with Larion looks like

Larion is a adult dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Larion, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Larion?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Larion on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Larion if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Larion already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Larion isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Larion and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
