Hi, I’m Larry, a neutered white male cat with an estimated date of birth: May 21, 2021. I’ve already been neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and declawed—and I’m ready for my new home! I came to Hokazo as a stray, and unfortunately, no one has yet come forward to adopt me. At first, I found being at Hokazo quite exciting, but I quickly realized that the people here aren’t scary at all. I even let myself be gently petted from the scratching post. Now, I come greet you whenever you enter the house and am open to all the cuddles I can get. Unfortunately, it turns out that I’m FIV-positive. This is the same as HIV in humans—the early stage of AIDS. That doesn’t mean I’ll necessarily develop full-blown AIDS. It just makes me a bit more susceptible to infections because my immune system is weaker. But with proper care, I can still live a long life. The virus isn’t contagious to humans or other animals—only to cats. That’s why I can’t be placed with healthy cats. Because I’m FIV-positive, I’m not allowed to roam freely outdoors. I’m looking for a calm household where I can be an indoor cat and receive endless cuddles. Whether I’d be compatible with small children, we’re not sure—big kids might be okay, as long as they’re calm. Hoi ik ben Larry, een cypers met witte kater met een geschatte geboortedatum van: 21 mei 2021. Ik ben inmiddels gecastreerd, gechipt, volledig gevaccineerd, ontwormd en ontvlooid en klaar voor verhuizing. Ik ben als zwerver binnengekomen en helaas heeft er niemand zich gemeld voor mij. Ik vond het in t begin best spannend bij Hokazo, maar had al snel door dat de mensen hier niet eng zijn. Ik liet me voorzichtig aaien vanuit de krabpaal. Nu kom ik je begroeten als je binnenkomt en sta open voor alle knuffels die ik krijg. Helaas is wel gebleken dat ik FIV-positief ben. Dit is hetzelfde als Hiv bij mensen, het voorstadium van aids. Dit hoeft niet te betekenen dat ik ook echt aids krijg. Ik ben hierdoor alleen wat gevoeliger voor infecties omdat mijn weerstand lager is. Maar met de juiste verzorging kan ik nog best oud worden. Het is niet besmettelijk voor mensen of andere dieren, alleen voor katten. Daarom mag ik niet bij gezonde katten geplaatst worden. Omdat ik FIV-positief ben, mag ik niet vrij buiten rond lopen Ik ben op zoek naar een rustig huishouden als binnenkatje. Waar ik oneindig veel knuffels mag krijgen. Of ik met kleine kinderen kan weten we niet, grote kinderen kunnen als ze rustig zijn.
