Laura

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Update: Laura is allowed to travel to a loving foster home in Trittau on 13.11.2026! This is tremendous luck for this little female dog. She is receiving this opportunity shortly after her rescue, because a foster home is a wonderful chance to find the right people for Laura. The small and delicate Laura was also freed from the Turceni euthanasia station and now finally has the chance at a better life. Whatever may lie behind her, this beautiful dog now has a reason to look ahead again. Laura shows herself to be a friendly, approachable, and still somewhat shy dog. With her elegant appearance and gentle nature, she charms people already on first meeting. She enjoys attention from people and allows closeness, but in new situations she may need some time to build trust. Unfortunately, Laura is currently underweight and first needs to be built back up. She is being lovingly cared for and medically supervised at present so that she can regain her strength. We very much hope that she will soon experience what it feels like to be looked after and loved. Unfortunately, we do not know what Laura has experienced in her life so far or what experiences she has already gathered. We therefore cannot say with certainty whether she already knows life in a house. Many everyday things may still be new to her and will need to be discovered. However, we are convinced that with the right people by her side, who give her patience, understanding, and security, Laura will quickly settle into her new life. She will probably not be able to stay alone right away either, and this should be practiced step by step only after an appropriate adjustment period. Laura should be given the opportunity to build trust calmly and get used to her new surroundings. One must not forget that even the move into a loving home will be a huge change for her. For the enchanting Laura we are looking for people with heart who will give her the time to settle in and show her how beautiful a sheltered dog's life can be. Whoever gives her this chance will be rewarded with a gentle, lovable, and grateful companion. Laura is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and will be placed with a protection contract after a positive pre-check. Departure possible from 13.11.2026. General note about our animals: Our dogs in Romania are visited regularly so that we can reassess their behavior and development again and again. These personal impressions help us greatly to convey as accurate a picture as possible of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog in a new environment – with new people, new routines, and new impressions – may also show itself differently. This is entirely normal and part of any process of change. Many dogs open up even more quickly in a home and show sides that were not visible at the shelter at all. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but they are not a guarantee for every behavior in a new setting. They are meant to provide orientation and show how the dog presents itself at the shelter – and what potential lies within it. We are convinced: with patience, understanding, and a loving environment, every dog can find its way and continue to develop positively.

About Laura

What life with Laura looks like

Laura is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Laura, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Laura?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Laura on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Laura if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Laura already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Laura isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Laura and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
