Adopt Laura

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Laura was found together with her siblings without a mother and now lives in our Romanian partner shelter. There, the little female dog with her charming puppy chaos already brings joy every day. She is just at the beginning of her life and is now looking for people who are willing to explore the big wide world together with her – including all the small and big puppy adventures. And Laura has some of those on hand. The young mixed-breed female dog is in the famous "I'll try everything" phase of her life. Sometimes she's boldly stepping out, playing with full body involvement, and other times she's observing from a safe distance to see if this new thing is really harmless. Because Laura is curious, friendly, and playful – but also still a little puppy that doesn't always know what to make of all the new impressions. So, she prefers to observe new people, unfamiliar sounds, or strange situations at first. But after a short consideration, her curiosity usually prevails. And by the time she's playing, frolicking, or cuddling, Laura is fully in it instead of just being a part of it. The little female dog gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She is social, friendly, and playfully puppy-like. Laura also knows cats and apparently finds that living with these purring roommates works out well. Since Laura has only known life in the animal shelter so far, everything in Germany will be new to her: vacuum cleaners, TVs, traffic, walks, household noises – in short, the complete "welcome-to-daily-life" package. Her future family shouldn't expect Laura to be perfectly adjusted from the first day. She still needs to learn how everything works. And yes – of course, this also includes typical puppy topics: Laura is not yet house-trained, can't be left alone, and has only learned the creative freestyle version of puppy training so far. Shoes could be interesting, houseplants might be too, and why people sometimes say "No" will probably have to be rethought by Laura at some point during puberty. With patience, humor, and loving consistency, the little explorer will certainly become a wonderful companion. For Laura, we wish for people who enjoy showing a young dog the world – including small mishaps, funny moments, and all the chaotic moments that come with having a puppy. People who know that perfection can't be adopted but can appreciate personality, joy in life, and a whole lot of heart will surely not be disappointed. Laura currently lives in our partner shelter in Romania and can travel to her new home in June, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated against endo- and ectoparasites. Before her travel arrangements, she will be tested for common Mediterranean diseases using the SNAP test.

About Laura

What life with Laura looks like

Laura is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Hope for lost Souls e.V. in Kleinostheim.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Laura, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Laura?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hope for lost Souls e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Laura on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Laura if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hope for lost Souls e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Laura already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Laura isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hope for lost Souls e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Laura and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
