Laureano

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt Laureano now! adoption requirements adoption process Laureano is approximately 2 years old and has been sitting in the public shelter in Baia Mare for months. A young dog like him should now discover the world, play, learn, and grow up in safety—yet instead, he looks through bars at a world he barely knows and into which he so desperately wants to enter. With his ca. 55–60 cm shoulder height, Laureano is a sturdy male dog with a harmonious, athletic build. His short, smooth coat is in a warm beige to sand tone that shines particularly beautifully in the sunlight. His face is marked by a delicate black mask that emphasizes his gentle, dark eyes and gives him a particularly expressive, warm gaze. His attentive ears and fine expression make him a real looker—a dog with visible character and inner strength. Laureano is very friendly towards people and delights in any attention he can get. He gets along well with male dogs; with female dogs, it is currently unknown. But the everyday life in the cramped kennel takes its toll on him: loud, hectic, and full of stress. Laureano should not have to grow up here. He urgently needs the chance to leave this place before his enthusiasm for life continues to fade. For him, we wish people who will show him what a normal dog life looks like—walks, a warm dog bed, peace, bonding, and loving guidance to settle into his new world. He brings everything with him to become a great companion, but now he needs someone who believes in him and gives him this start. Positive dog training classes are recommended so that he can learn everything a dog needs for a happy life and to be able to arrive safely. Who gives Laureano the chance at a real life—as a foster dog or forever? After a positive review, many thanks to Birgit Z. for taking on his namingship. Many thanks, Susa W.! You support Laureano with a monthly paternity! As of: 10.11. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vielen Dank Susa W.! Du unterstützt Laureano mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft! About Laureano

What life with Laureano looks like

Laureano is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Laureano, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Laureano?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Laureano on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Laureano if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Laureano already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Laureano isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Laureano and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
