Layon – Faltenkopp und Pubertier

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

I am male, microchipped, vaccinated, and born on November 1, 2019. I have been waiting since December 2023 for a new home. My caretakers say about me: Layon came to us as an intake from a friendly association. He greets everyone with friendliness and enthusiasm. Layon enjoys any affection and loves long walks. When meeting other dogs, he sometimes loses his composure and barks. If the opposite barks back, he ups the ante. Layon can also socialize with other animals and people, but he still needs to learn to do it reliably. Even ignorance or disregard, which he feels he does not deserve, are sometimes met with nibbles and nips. Or the jacket, even the Poppes, which Layon gets between his teeth. The scale ranges from gentle nips to rough pinches. By now, he realizes that this behavior is undesirable, but as a Shar Pei, he stubbornly pursues his goals and tries it again. He immediately stops and appeases at the first correction, and we also do not want to hide his dejected look. A whole man, he thinks. The teenage phase, because that's how he behaves, is basically tolerable. But he is convinced that his rightful place is the center of the universe. Quasi the zenith. Always. If his brown eyes shift during this, he gets barked at, wrestled with, and patted—of course, gender-neutral. So, only Shar Pei enthusiasts or people experienced in dealing with teenagers are sought. The readiness for loving companionship and the endurance to transform our snooty guy into a cultivated style icon in everyday life must be present. Including the record-player syndrome—Layon, as a breed, will need some repetitions and explanations. Children should be steadfast and familiar with dog handling. For now, we do not see him as a second dog, but a really cool and sharp-tongued lady with a cold snout might come into question. Whoever can handle our cuddly guy will find their biggest fan in him. One who is always up for fun and nonsense. The more dramatic, the better… from the first day on. Who wants to study dogdom with our cuddly guy? In breaks, he is either cuddled or plenty of nonsense is made—Layon swears by it, promised.

About Layon – Faltenkopp und Pubertier

What life with Layon – Faltenkopp und Pubertier looks like

Layon – Faltenkopp und Pubertier is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Frequently asked

Adopting Layon – Faltenkopp und Pubertier, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Layon – Faltenkopp und Pubertier?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Layon – Faltenkopp und Pubertier on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Layon – Faltenkopp und Pubertier if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Layon – Faltenkopp und Pubertier already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Layon – Faltenkopp und Pubertier isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Layon – Faltenkopp und Pubertier and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
