Lea

Female · Adult · 7 years

Lea is another broken dog's heart. From a warm home, couches, she ended up in an animal shelter, in an outdoor pen with a hut. After the death of caregiver Lea, she ended up at Na Paluchu, and our hearts break when we see her sad in the pen, surely missing her former, home life. From Lei it is visible that she was a pet dog, she tries at all costs to maintain cleanliness in the pen, walks beautifully on a leash, is recallable and knows basic commands. Contact with people is important for her, she is very happy to meet us every time and even enjoys short, shared moments. However, she is not pushy, she is a calm, cultured and stable female dog - modest, touching and adorable. Lea is a sensitive heart and a very smart female dog, she understands immediately what the person needs and is ready to cooperate. However, during walks Lea has her own opinion! :) She likes to choose the routes herself and is very happy when she can do so. Then she jumps around with joy like a little goat! Other dogs on the walk she ignores, and in direct contact she can beautifully communicate with her species. She has socialization walks both with dogs and cats, she is very good in canine company, is gentle and calm in contact, teaches other dogs canine manners and dog communication, likes to play with friendly dogs. She plays beautifully with toys and chewies. Lea travels very nicely by car. We are looking for a person for her who will restore her faith in love, take care of her forever, a home without small children, located in a quiet area without heavy traffic and pedestrian movement. We don't know how Lei relates to other pets, including cats. If Lea were to go to a home where there is already another animal, it would be necessary to introduce her to the resident. Lea must live in a quiet area, therefore during the adoption process we recommend a pre-adoption visit, to check how Lea would find her way in the potential walking area and house. Lea to kolejne złamane psie serce. Z ciepłego domu, kanapy, trafiła do schroniska, do zewnętrznego boksu z budą. About Lea

What life with Lea looks like

Lea is a large adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs quiet area away from heavy traffic, requires pre-adoption home visit

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lea, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lea?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lea on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lea if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lea already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lea isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lea and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
