Adopt Leah

Female · Puppy · 4 months

Background When Leah was a very young puppy she lived in the streets of Macedonia with her mother Norma and her brother Lenny. Leah and Lenny were the only survivors of the litter, because Norma had a really hard time to survive herself and the puppies wasted away, were killed by other dogs or by people who were annoyed by the mother and her small puppies when they were searching for food and shelter. But Leah was lucky that Norma and her two puppies were rescued and saved from a miserable destiny as strays or even death. Likes Leah has developed really well and she has grown up to be an adorable, cheerful and energetic young dog. She is friendly with everyone and gets on really well with other dogs and has lived with cats too. Leah is also really good with children and will make a wonderful family dog. Because of her good natured disposition Leah is assessed to be suitable for first-dog adopters, but she will need house training, lead training and proper education for a young dog. Dislikes and issues No issues have been seen. Ideal Home Leah can be homed with another resident dog or as an only dog. She would need a home with a fenced outdoor area where she could easily go outside. Daily walks are a must for her as he is still young and has a moderate level of energy. Leah is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated.

About Leah

What life with Leah looks like

Leah is a medium-sized puppy/kitten dog waiting at Strays Without Borders in Skopje.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Leah, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Leah?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Strays Without Borders handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Leah on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Leah if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Strays Without Borders will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Leah already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Leah isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Strays Without Borders early rather than rehoming privately; they know Leah and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
