Leche

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Leche, a brave kitten, lived with two small boys by the road in the Märjamaa botanical garden territory. Every moment she had to be on guard, watching that the lost and curious kittens would not get in front of cars. Every day the situation became more and more dangerous, until careful people intervened and took Leche and her kittens to the shelter. When she arrived, Leche was quite wild and aggressive. Constant meowing and hitting with paws were her way of protecting herself and her little ones. She had been handling the street alone and a person did not yet mean safety for her. Now this chapter is over. Leche's kittens went to their foster family and Leche got a place in the cat room - there her transformation began. Now Leche has calmed down - she does not meow or hit with paws, but remains cautious, watchful and alert. She explores the environment, learns and sometimes plays with other cats. There is interest and a desire to be part of life around her, but she needs time and a patient person for trust to start growing slowly. Leche is looking for a home where it is understood that some cats need a bit more space before becoming friends. Once trust is established, it is truly valuable - Leche is gentle and a very valuable companion.

ET·Show original

Nüüd on see peatükk läbi. Tekkis huvi? Täida ankeet ja paku kodu!

About Leche

What life with Leche looks like

Leche is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ in Estonia.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇪Adopting from Estonia

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Leche, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Leche?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Leche on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Leche if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Leche already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Leche isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ early rather than rehoming privately; they know Leche and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ET). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
