adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Leeda has found a home! Her story: The little black jewel named Leeda is a particularly beautiful puppy girl. She has black, slightly curly fur with white patches on her chest and paws. Her shiny, black button eyes blink at us affectionately. Since the beginning of January, the sweet mouse has been living with her foster family in Germany. From the start, she has been very calm, cuddly, and enjoys every bit of attention and loves cuddles. She is open to people, especially her trusted people have already won her heart. She is also very open and curious towards strangers. She sleeps quietly in her dog bed at night and has been house-trained from the start, which has surprised us all. With the existing first-time dog owners, the little Leeda gets along well, she is puppy-like playful, but always remains calm. She already walks calmly on a leash and is very attentive to the first-time dogs and also to her people, where she is very eager to learn. At the moment, Leeda is simply a needy little puppy. But her puberty will not be far off, and this is also a time for dogs when the foundations for the rest of their life are set. Therefore, we recommend Leeda's new people to work with a positively working dog training class. Patient and loving training will strengthen her self-confidence and the bond to her trusted people. Originally, Leeda came from Romania, Baia Mare. She was found as a puppy together with her sister Antonia and was brought to safety in a Romanian foster home. Stand: 12.03. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 12.03.2025

About Leeda

What life with Leeda looks like

Leeda is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Leeda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Leeda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Leeda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Leeda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Leeda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Leeda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Leeda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
