Leiza

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal!Leiza found a home quickly! Her story: Leiza – so small, so golden, so lovable! Tiny lives that barely had a chance but used it nonetheless. Leiza and her siblings Eyra, Püppie, Fritzchen, and Elea were only 10 weeks old when they were found on an abandoned farm. Originally there were seven of them, but sadly, two puppies were unfortunately killed. The remaining five could apparently hide and thus luckily survived. The little ones are currently living in a Romanian shelter and are understandably still a bit shy. But if given time and proximity, their true nature quickly comes to light: friendly, curious, and so loving. They snuggle closely in your arms and enjoy every petting. We hope very much that they will soon find good homes where they will feel warmth and security and develop into the wonderful personalities whose early signs are already clearly recognizable. Leiza has a beautiful facial marking that gives her an unmistakable, lovable appearance. It's hard to say what breeds are in her, as her siblings all look quite different. At about 4 kg, she is still small, but will likely reach a medium height when fully grown. Leiza must of course still learn the dog basics: leash walking, house training, first commands, and living safely with people. Like every young pup, she will also enter puberty – a phase where it's normal for her to question many things and thus need orientation. Our Leiza is searching for a caring home where she can stay forever. She will love spending time with her people, going on discovery tours together, and being active. Her clever head will enjoy playful training and small daily challenges. The happiest Leiza will be when she is a beloved family member and feels that she belongs. She gets along well with other dogs but has not met any cats yet. After a positive age-related check, she is still not neutered. Who would like to make our little bear Leiza a permanent part of their heart and home – or a loving foster home? Many thanks, Michaela M., for taking on her namingship. As of 16.12. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 16.12.2025

About Leiza

What life with Leiza looks like

Leiza is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Leiza, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Leiza?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Leiza on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Leiza if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Leiza already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Leiza isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Leiza and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
