Adopt Lejdy

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

Lejdy was rescued "just like that" from a puppy mill, extremely obese with a filled milk line. Lejdy has "a few" scars on her body - disabilities that she will carry for the rest of her life. The little girl had a swollen head at the time of admission - probably due to an injury, the front leg is a bit shorter and thinner compared to the other one, which Lejdy uses to compensate for stable walking. Lejdy has learned to live fully with this disability and it does not cause her any problems in daily life. Lejdy is completely great by nature, loyal and faithful companion. Lejdy does not need or want pity, but love from a person, which she returns a million times over! Lejdy is very intelligent, fully compatible with dogs and has already learned to play with them. We managed to get Lejdy's extreme obesity under control. For Lejdy we are looking for a family that can adopt her with their heart and give her a beautiful past - what our Lejdy deserves.

Read original (sk)

SNP 21, 811 01 Bratislava FIO CZ: 2201868518/2010 SWIFT/ Banka: Fio banka, a.s., V Celnici 1028/10, 117 21 Praha 1

About Lejdy

What life with Lejdy looks like

Lejdy is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Malá farma in Slovakia.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇰Adopting from Slovakia

Slovak rescue groups coordinate cross-border transport with European partners. Animals are chipped and vaccinated; sterilization is often included for adults and arranged post-adoption for puppies/kittens.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lejdy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lejdy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Malá farma handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lejdy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lejdy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Malá farma will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lejdy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lejdy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Malá farma early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lejdy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
