Adopt Leni

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Breed: mixed breed. Gender: female. Age: born 30.08.2025. Weight: 13.1 kg. In animal shelter since: 07.05.2026. Special features: The lovely Leni, born on August 30, 2025, is an open and curious female dog who is now looking for her own home. She is very friendly towards people and enjoys every bit of attention. Leni is an active female dog who loves to be on the move. In the play area, she enthusiastically runs around and would surely enjoy being active with her human family. Therefore, we wish for her a home with people who like to do things and are eager to show her the world. However, Leni has not had much experience yet. Many everyday situations are still unfamiliar to her. Driving in a car, being left alone, or walking on a leash are all things she needs to learn step by step. With patience, loving guidance, and some time, she will surely make great progress. Leni gets along very well with other dogs and shows herself to be social and compatible. Attending dog training classes would also be a nice opportunity for her to learn new things and grow together with her human family. We are looking for active, caring people who enjoy giving a loving female dog security and experiencing many adventures together with her.

About Leni

What life with Leni looks like

Leni is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Lübbersdorf in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Leni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Leni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Lübbersdorf handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Leni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Leni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Lübbersdorf will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Leni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Leni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Lübbersdorf early rather than rehoming privately; they know Leni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
