adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Leni must sadly leave her current family, as the circumstances there do not fit. Since January 2026, she has lived with her current family in Germany and has already experienced a lot together with her humans. She is today a fully healthy, lively, and beautiful little female dog. She has dense, shiny fur, she is physically fit, and she enjoys building muscles in nature. Outdoors, Leni shows her best side: she moves fearlessly, enjoys long walks in the English Garden, and is already well-callable. In a neutral environment, she is socially compatible with other dogs, cats, and people. By now, she has even discovered playing and is enthusiastic about playing with fellow animals. At home, Leni is a faithful and cuddly companion who sleeps peacefully in her bed at night and is reliably house-trained. However, we are now searching for a new home for Leni that can better meet her specific needs. In Leni, various breed characteristics likely slumber, making her a very sensitive and reactive female dog with a low threshold for stimuli. In a lively environment, she can become stressed by noises in the hallway or the ringing of the doorbell, and she shows pronounced watchfulness. Also, being alone still falls very hard on her; here, she reacts with stress to spatial separation. This must be built up in peace and with positive reinforcement. For Leni, we therefore wish for a quiet, relaxed environment, ideally in a household with a house and garden where there are fewer external stimuli. As she is very intelligent and attachment-oriented, she needs people with experience in dealing with sensitive dogs who can give her security with patience and structure. An independent only dog that she can orient herself to would certainly be a great help for Leni. She brings unheimlich much life joy and potential and is only waiting to know the right people by her side. Leni is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas and has an EU pet passport. She can be met at her foster home upon agreement and will be available for a positive trial period. Many thanks to Maren – you gave Leni her beautiful name! Date: 29.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank an Maren – du hast Leni ihren wunderschönen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 29.05.2026 Weitere Informationen zum Thema Vorkontrolle und Schutzgebühr

About Leni

What life with Leni looks like

Leni is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Leni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Leni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Leni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Leni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Leni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Leni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Leni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
