adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Lenni has found a home! His story: When first meeting Lenni, one's heart is usually captured at the first glance. With his golden silky fur, reminiscent of a charming long-haired dachshund mix, and his deep black button nose, the small male dog looks almost like a stuffed animal. Behind this irresistible appearance lies a particularly gentle soul that is finally ready to arrive. The approximately 7-year-old and only 28 cm small Lenni was found alone on the street – a past he now wants to leave behind. In his current foster home with Ana, he shows his very best side: He is a consistently lovable and affectionate companion who loves the proximity to humans above all else. Lenni is a small pro at cohabitation; he gets along wonderfully with other dogs, is friendly to cats, and meets children with great gentleness. Lenni tested negative for Anaplasma, which, however, is no obstacle to a happy dog life. As this status is known, he can be cared for specifically. With good care and consistent tick prevention, affected dogs have a completely normal life expectancy and quality of life. Lenni himself cannot be robbed of his life's courage by this. He is now searching for people who will show him that he never has to be alone again. Lenni is ready to pack his bags and put his entire trust in his new family. Lenni travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated to his new home. He even brings his EU pet passport of course. Thanks to Julia L., you gave Lenni his name and thus the chance at his personal happy ending. As of: 04.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Lenni

What life with Lenni looks like

Lenni is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lenni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lenni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lenni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lenni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lenni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lenni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lenni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
