Lenny

Labrador Retriever · Male

Lenny - a calm and affectionate dog is looking for a loving home. Lenny is a 9-year-old neutered Labrador-Old English Bulldog-Boxer mix who had to move to the shelter due to the illness of his previous owner. The lovable male dog is now hoping to be part of a family soon. His previous owner describes Lenny as a friendly, balanced and very people-oriented dog. He is in good health, house-trained and can easily be left alone. While other dogs would love to have action all day, Lenny enjoys the quiet aspects of life. Cuddling is just as important to him as leisurely walks or simply being close to his humans. With his calm and loving nature, Lenny quickly wins the hearts of those around him. He is a true heart dog who enjoys every attention and just likes to be there. Lenny has spent many years with his dog friend Milo. The two are a well-rehearsed team and get along wonderfully. They can move in together, but can also move separately to a new home if the conditions are right. Since Lenny has only recently moved in, our animal carer team is still getting to know him better. His description will therefore be supplemented gradually as we get to know him better in the shelter. We are looking for loving people who can give Lenny a quiet place to live and take him in as a loyal companion. With his friendly nature and gentle character, he will surely bring a lot of joy to his humans. If you are serious about it, we would be happy to arrange an appointment to get to know each other by calling .

About Lenny

What life with Lenny looks like

Lenny is a adult labrador retriever dog waiting at Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lenny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lenny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lenny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lenny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lenny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lenny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lenny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
