Lenny

Mixed Breed · Male

Lenny arrived at the animal shelter in December 2025. Unfortunately, we don't know his past, but much indicates that it was not easy. He probably never had the chance to know what care and human closeness are, he didn't walk on a leash and seems to have been invisible. Today Lenny is a completely different dog than he was at the beginning of his shelter journey. This little, young, and adorable red-haired dog is overcoming his fears every day and making great progress. From a distrustful, withdrawn puppy, he slowly becomes a dog who starts to associate humans with something good and pleasant. A huge support for Lenny are other dogs - he really likes them and finds himself very well in their company. In a new home, the presence of another balanced dog would be a great advantage and support for him in further development and opening up. Just recently, walks meant a trip on volunteers' hands... today he proudly marches on his own paws, especially in the company of canine companions. He also allowed himself to be dressed in a jacket during the freezing winter - that's really a big step forward. Lenny is a wonderful, delicate puppy who needs a patient, calm caregiver. Someone who will give him time, a sense of security, and show him that the world can be a good place.

PL·Show original

Lenny trafił do schroniska w grudniu 2025 roku. Dziś Lenny to zupełnie inny pies niż ten z początku swojej schroniskowej drogi. Ten mały, młody i uroczy rudzielec każdego dnia pokonuje swoje lęki i robi ogromne postępy.

About Lenny

What life with Lenny looks like

Lenny is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lenny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lenny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lenny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lenny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lenny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lenny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lenny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
