Leo

Bengal · Male

Leo is a beautiful, plush Bengal cat with a lot of charm and brains. He is looking for a home where he can have outdoor access and be kept as an indoor-outdoor cat. Leo was kind enough to agree to an interview. He wants to find his right people who understand him. Hello Leo! Tell us a bit about yourself. Sure! I'm Leo - a gorgeous, plush Bengal cat with a lot of charm and brains. What makes you special? I'm pretty smart. So smart that doors are often no obstacle for me. If something exciting happens somewhere, I usually find a way to get there. It will definitely not be boring with me! How do you feel about people? I really like people and am open and interested in them. I enjoy the time together, but I also want to be busy, after all, there is a real Bengal in me. What do you want from your new home? I need people who want to play with me. Climbing, exploring and small brain teasers are just part of it for me. I want to be challenged and be allowed to use my clever head. Do you want to live alone? Honestly, yes. I've noticed that I just want to be the center of attention. If the other cats are too dominant, I don't like it, if they are too nice, their nice nature bores me ;-) I just need people who will busy themselves with me a lot. And what's your future like? As soon as I've settled in, I definitely want to have outdoor access in a quiet, safe environment. So I can exert myself in a way that is typical of my breed, explore the world and then come home content. Finally - why should someone adopt you? Because I am the perfect mix of cuddly companion, clever explorer and active adventurer. Whoever gives an intelligent Bengal cat a suitable home will get a very special friend for life with me. Can you visit me in advance? Sure, I'm happy to meet visitors. But please arrange a visit in advance. Email:

Was macht dich besonders? Was wünschst du dir von deinem neuen Zuhause? Darf man dich vorab besuchen? Klar, ich freue mich über Besuch. Aber bitte vereinbart vorher einen Besuchstermin. E-Mail:

About Leo

What life with Leo looks like

Leo is a small adult bengal cat waiting at Verein der Katzenfreunde e.V. in St. Ingbert.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Leo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Leo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Verein der Katzenfreunde e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Leo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Leo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Verein der Katzenfreunde e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Leo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Leo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Verein der Katzenfreunde e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Leo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
