Leo, born 01/03/23, weight 17 kg, medium size, compatible with dogs, cats, children, fearful. Experienced adopters. 💙LEO has 3 legs (left hind leg). Our beautiful Leo is looking for his forever family! 💜I am Leo, the sweetest, most gentle and kindest of dogs. I am a bit shy. Why shy? Because I suffered, I lost one of my hind legs from a shot from the municipality in Tunisia, a country where they exterminate dogs and cats in the worst way, it made me sad... You wouldn't want to comfort me? It would do me good and maybe one day I could comfort you too. I currently live with a dog friend and a cat friend, but we are only in foster care and we need to find our forever family. There are also 3 cats at our foster home. I am medium-sized, I weigh 17 kg, I just turned 3 years old. I am identified, vaccinated and neutered, ready to join you. For this, you need to call Dominique at 06 77 31 50 90, you also need to contribute to my veterinary expenses to the tune of €300.So, let's comfort each other soon? I already love you! About Léo

What life with Léo looks like

Léo is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at L in France.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Léo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Léo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. L handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Léo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Léo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — L will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Léo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Léo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with L early rather than rehoming privately; they know Léo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
