Leonardo und Stuart

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten

Leonardo & Stuart Alter: born 29.04.2026. Sex: male Compatibility: together Housing: apartment with secured balcony/outdoor access in quiet residential area Health: vaccinated, chipped, neutered, FIV/FelV negative Adoption fee: 230 euros per cat Leonardo and Stuart were fortunate to be born in a foster home. Their mother is a feral domestic cat who was able to safely raise her kittens there. From the beginning, the two have been in contact with humans and are developing into curious, playful, and lovable little cats. They grow up in the midst of family life and know both children and cat-friendly dogs. They approach them openly and relaxed. Leonardo and Stuart have found a particularly harmonious team and should therefore move into their new home together. Leonardo Leonardo is a black cat who initially observes new situations attentively. He gladly lets his brother take the first step and then follows curiously. On the other hand, he shows full commitment during play and loves wild romping. Stuart Stuart, affectionately called "Stuart Little" - after the little mouse from the well-known children's film - was the smallest of the litter at the beginning. In the meantime, he has caught up, but kept his nickname. He is a brave, curious, and playful little cat who is full of energy discovering the world. After the romping, he also enjoys long cuddles. Both are curious and, due to their age, only have mischief on their minds. However, they are so cute that you can't help but laugh at them all the time. They need to investigate everything, preferably together. They have already had contact with small dog-experienced dogs and found the dog great. They also know adult cats and children. So they are round-about compatible and open-minded animals. What we wish for We wish Leonardo and Stuart a loving home where they can grow up together. They will not be kept in single housing, but only together.

About Leonardo und Stuart

What life with Leonardo und Stuart looks like

Leonardo und Stuart is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Katzenschutzbund Köln in Köln.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Leonardo und Stuart, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Leonardo und Stuart?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Katzenschutzbund Köln handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Leonardo und Stuart on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Leonardo und Stuart if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Katzenschutzbund Köln will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Leonardo und Stuart already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Leonardo und Stuart isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Katzenschutzbund Köln early rather than rehoming privately; they know Leonardo und Stuart and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
