Lesley

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Lesley is a mixed breed female puppy born in August 2025, who was brought to the Svilos animal shelter by a woman from a neighboring town along with her seven siblings. She is now ready to travel and eagerly awaits a loving home. Lesley is a very people-oriented, affectionate and playful dog who loves the company of her humans. She is loving and approachable with familiar people and enjoys attention and long cuddles. Compared to her siblings, Lesley is a bit calmer and more balanced, without sacrificing her joie de vivre and her need for exercise. She is an active, playful dog who loves to run freely in the exercise area and chase her toys. She is cheerful, curious and full of energy. Lesley also gets along very well with other dogs. She enjoys playing with her fellow dogs and enjoying time with them. Therefore, we can imagine Lesley as a second dog. Her behavior towards cats and other animals is unknown to us. We wish Lesley a loving home where she gets a lot of attention and affection and at the same time has ample opportunity for exercise, play and shared activities. Anyone looking for a playful, active and at the same time calmer companion could find Lesley the perfect four-legged friend. The dog's shoulder height is 51 cm and she weighs about 15 kg.

About Lesley

What life with Lesley looks like

Lesley is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Care Hungary.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lesley, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lesley?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Care Hungary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lesley on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lesley if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Care Hungary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lesley already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lesley isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Care Hungary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lesley and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
