Adopt Lewiatanek

Mixed Breed · Male

Lewiatanek had been hanging out under the counter at our area in Szczytnej for a long time. The shop assistants did their best to provide him with a little bit of safety and warmth. Unfortunately – over time, the kitten started to fall ill, and that's how he ended up under our care. Thankfully, that's just a memory now – today, Lewiatanek is healthy, strong, and ready for his own home! This little cat loves being the center of attention. He dreams of having his very own person exclusively, so he's looking for a home as a singleton – other cats aren't his thing, and he decidedly prefers to have the whole heart of his caregiver all to himself. In return, he offers a lot of affection, purring, and priceless moments of closeness. Lewiatanek is also a true cat chatterbox – with him, no lonely moment will be scary. He's the perfect companion for long, cold evenings. He adores being petted, good food, and soft bedding. He's sweet, though – like every respectable cat – he also has his own personality. Vet visits, eye infections, or similar stories are topics he must express his opinion on. But with the right approach, one can get along with him. His FIV/FELV tests are negative, he's vaccinated and neutered, and he'll be ready to go to his new home already neutered.

Lewiatanek przez długi czas bytował pod sklepem w Szczytnej. Panie ekspedientki robiły, co mogły, by zapewnić mu choć odrobinę bezpieczeństwa i ciepła. Uwielbia głaskanie, dobre jedzonko i miękkie posłanka.

About Lewiatanek

What life with Lewiatanek looks like

Lewiatanek is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja EkoStraż in Wrocław.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lewiatanek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lewiatanek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja EkoStraż handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lewiatanek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lewiatanek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja EkoStraż will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lewiatanek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lewiatanek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja EkoStraż early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lewiatanek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
