Lexi

Mixed Breed · Female

Meet Lexi ❤️ Lexi is a little Staffy cross with the most beautiful nature. Sweet, gentle, and incredibly affectionate, she is one of those dogs who captures hearts wherever she goes. She truly is a darling in every sense of the word. When Lexi arrived with us, she was struggling with painful issues affecting her feet, and it took some time, care, and dedication to get them under control. Thankfully, she is now doing wonderfully and enjoying life so much more. Lexi is looking for a home where she can be the only pet. She walks well around other dogs when out and about, but she would be happiest as the sole dog in the household, soaking up all the love and attention for herself. One of Lexi’s favourite things in the world is children. She absolutely adores them and has such a soft and gentle way about her. She would make a lovely family companion. While she enjoys playing and having fun outdoors, Lexi is looking for a home that isn’t overly active. Due to her previous foot issues, she can still become a little sore from time to time and would be happiest with a family who understands her need for a balanced lifestyle. Lexi is currently taking medication to help manage her skin and foot condition. The medication costs approximately £75 for a 90-day supply, and support with this can be discussed if required. She also has very mild urinary incontinence. It is easily managed and simply requires a little awareness from her future family. None of these things define Lexi. What defines her is her loving nature, her gentle soul, and the endless affection she has to give. She is a truly special little dog who deserves a family that will see beyond her minor medical needs and appreciate the wonderful companion she is. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving best friend who will repay your kindness a thousand times over, Lexi could be the perfect match. 🐾❤️

About Lexi

What life with Lexi looks like

Lexi is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Lexi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lexi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lexi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lexi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lexi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lexi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lexi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
