Lexi

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Meet Lexi – a rescue puppy looking for her forever family Lexi is a beautiful little girl with brown and white markings, floppy ears and a fine sprinkling of freckles across her nose. One of five puppies from an unplanned litter, Lexi came into our care with her siblings at eight weeks old. Their owner kept both mum and dad, and entrusted the puppies to us to find loving homes of their own. We’re looking for a family who can give Lexi the time, patience and affection every puppy needs. Gentle introductions to new experiences, positive reinforcement training and a reassuring routine will help her settle into family life, with plenty of opportunities for play and rest along the way. Welcoming Lexi means being there for all those little milestones as she grows—helping her learn, discovering her favourite games and building a bond that lasts a lifetime. Health and Documentation Lexi will arrive fully vaccinated and with comprehensive health checks, including: Most of our dogs have been found abandoned as young pups, discarded as unwanted litters, as is often the case in Portugal where neutering is not as common as in the UK. After rescue, all of our pups spend time in private shelters and foster homes, meaning they arrive happy, healthy and well socialised. UK Registered Charity Number 1183775

About Lexi

What life with Lexi looks like

Lexi is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs N Homes Rescue in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lexi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lexi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs N Homes Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lexi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lexi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs N Homes Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lexi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lexi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs N Homes Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lexi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
