Liana (Vermittlungshilfe)

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Liana is searching for a spot on the sunny side of life, and we are more than happy to help her find one, as she was almost unknown until recently. Liana, a beautiful and shy female dog, was caught by the dog catchers a few months ago and brought to the animal shelter Odai. She landed in the "big" part of the shelter, where she is just one of many dogs and often goes unnoticed. The dog is there, gets food and water, but is basically invisible. Our board members Nicole, who visited the animal shelter Odai, discovered Liana. Nicole asked to move the beautiful but still shy female dog from the big part to the socialization area, so Liana can get used to people and interact with them. Liana now has a quiet pen with a loving male dog, who offers her a strong shoulder through his relaxed and loving nature. The volunteers of the shelter now work with Liana every week to get used to people and are working on building her trust. The volunteers sit with Liana in her pen, giving her little sausages while stroking her. Liana has already made some progress. She no longer shows fear when the volunteers come, but she eagerly awaits their arrival and wags her tail joyfully. We are aware that we cannot place Liana with just any interested person or person, as it does require some dog experience and a lot of patience and empathy to integrate Liana into a human-dog community. We are confident that we will find the right hearts for Liana and also know that Liana will flourish in the right hands and environment. If Liana does not find her forever family right away, an experienced foster home with its own independent dogs would certainly serve as a stepping stone. Perhaps it would be good for Liana to have an experienced dog companion in her life who takes her by the paw and explains the world outside the animal shelter bars in peace. Liana is now more and more ready to embark on the adventure of being a family dog and is slowly building trust in people. Currently, Liana is still being treated for Anaplasmosis and is receiving the medication Doxycyclin. But by the time travel arrangements are made, the treatment will be complete.

DE·Show original

Also fast niemand wusste davon.

About Liana (Vermittlungshilfe)

What life with Liana (Vermittlungshilfe) looks like

Liana (Vermittlungshilfe) is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Liana (Vermittlungshilfe), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Liana (Vermittlungshilfe)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Liana (Vermittlungshilfe) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Liana (Vermittlungshilfe) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Liana (Vermittlungshilfe) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Liana (Vermittlungshilfe) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Liana (Vermittlungshilfe) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
