LIBERTY (F) 2 years and 4 months - URGENT FOSTER FAMILY REQUIRED or for adoption by BorderLineCollie Characteristics Date of birth: 6/02/2021 Sex: Female Registered with LOF/LOSH/ISDS: No Disabilities: Yes: DEAF Interaction with children: Yes from adolescence as she is energetic Interaction with dogs: Yes if not dominant! Interaction with cats: Currently lives with cats Interaction with other: No Liberty is a gentle and always happy Border Collie who responds well to people she knows and strangers. Due to her large size and impetuousness, care must be taken that she does not knock over young children. History Liberty has been with her current owners for about a year now. Not much is known about her background. Liberty lives with another Border Collie and with an older White Shepherd dog. The latter and Liberty do not get along at all. This leads to biting incidents and the White Shepherd suffers. The relationship with the other Border Collie is good; they stay together all day. Liberty spends her days on the farm or in the barn. Due to the disturbed relationship with the White Shepherd and the fact that the owners have no experience with deaf dogs, they have decided to ask BorderLineCollie to find an appropriate new home for Liberty. Liberty is used to the cage/bench and can be left alone at home for a few hours. She loves the car. She spends a lot of time outside in the yard, but is not used to going for walks; she hates a collar or harness. Liberty knows hand signals as an order to sit and not touch. BLC is urgently looking for a foster family or adopters who want to guide Liberty further into the canine world and who are willing to invest time and energy in her socialization and training. Required Home Adoption Neutered/spayed: No but will be Vaccinated: Yes Identifier: 528210006419380 Address: Roswinkel, Netherlands Participation in costs: 90€ Contact person: MACo Hoogenboom (Netherlands) or Veerle Baekelandt (Belgium) via messenger Email: Share on PinterestShare with your friendsYour NameYour EmailRecipient EmailEnter a MessageI read this article and found it very interesting, I think you might like it. About LIBERTY

What life with LIBERTY looks like

LIBERTY is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Border Line Collie in borderlinecollie.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting LIBERTY, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about LIBERTY?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Border Line Collie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw LIBERTY on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt LIBERTY if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Border Line Collie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is LIBERTY already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if LIBERTY isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Border Line Collie early rather than rehoming privately; they know LIBERTY and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
