Adopt Lili

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 13 years

Hello everyone, my name is Lili and I am a spayed female. I arrived at the Oasis following the death of my owner along with my friend Juliette. The staff at the Oasis tried to find us a common home but we are very shy and this discourages potential adopters. So, in order to give us a better chance of joining a home and being relaxed in a warm home, it's wiser to separate us, especially since we are not that affectionate. However, nothing will prevent a kind soul from adopting both of us, if that is their desire! I am used to living with several cats, but if they are too territorial, I tend to retreat. Unfortunately, living with young children and dogs will not be possible. At first approaches, you will see that I stay tucked in my little corner, but with lots of tenderness and patience, I will then enjoy coming to be cuddled. I am used to having access to the outside and I would like to have this possibility again, without a major road nearby. Regarding my health, apart from my eyes sometimes watering, I am in very good health!

About Lili

What life with Lili looks like

Lili is a senior mixed breed cat waiting at Oasis des vétérans.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lili, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lili?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Oasis des vétérans handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lili on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lili if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Oasis des vétérans will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lili already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lili isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Oasis des vétérans early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lili and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
