Kiara

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 10 years

My little name is Kiara, and I’m a spayed female cat who settled into Oasis in June 2026, because my family situation no longer suited me at all and was leading me to exhibit inappropriate litter-box behavior. The good news is that this litter-box issue was indeed caused by environmental discomfort—since arriving at Oasis, I’ve stopped having accidents altogether. If you’re charmed by me, the most important thing to remember is this: I’m sweet and cuddly, yet I remain a cat who, above all else, needs peace and quiet to thrive. My ideal home would be with a single person or a couple—but absolutely no other pets or children in the household. I’ve always been comfortable with my cozy little life on the couch; I don’t feel any need to go out and explore the wider world. As for my health, I’ve had recurring urinary tract infections in the past, but these were probably also linked to my environmental discomfort. To reduce the frequency of these episodes, I’ll need a special diet. Otherwise, I’m in good health—except for a slight heart murmur that doesn’t require treatment at the moment.

About Kiara

What life with Kiara looks like

Kiara is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Oasis des vétérans.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kiara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kiara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Oasis des vétérans handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kiara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kiara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Oasis des vétérans will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kiara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kiara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Oasis des vétérans early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kiara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
