Adopt Lilia

Female · Adult · 5 years

Hello, I'm Lila. I came to the animal shelter with my friends because my former owner bought us on eBay, but she actually has a breeding ban, and she kept us five in a hamster cage. We were four girls and one boy. Maybe you can imagine that the boy impregnated all of us. From the four girls, more were quickly born, but don't worry, we made sure that we won't get pregnant again and can have our babies in peace. Now, we all are looking for a new species-appropriate home. We love fresh vegetables, which taste so good, and they must not be missing in our new home. Our home shouldn't be a cage. We want to be able to move around and are therefore looking for a spot in a species-appropriate enclosure. We don't have to all move out together and would also be happy to join an already existing group of guinea pigs. So if you're looking for sweet guinea pigs like us, just get in touch with the animal shelter.

Eure Lilia

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
