Lilia

Mixed Breed · Female

Disability: Lili's life has not been fair. This fluffy, black and white kitten is dealing with a mobility disability. She has problems with her legs, so walking is difficult for her. However, she still enjoys life, liking to sunbathe and rest in quiet places. Lilia gets along well with other cats, but requires socialization with people. In the animal shelter, she has made great progress in this area, but still does not allow physical contact. She tolerates brushing (and sometimes even finger stroking) of her back, but trying to get close to her face may end with a paw strike and scratching. Before the first contact, Lilia should get to know the scent of a new person by sniffing the person's finger. All attempts at contact with the kitten should be done calmly. Llia needs a home that understands her. The owner of Lilia should be aware of the challenges the kitten faces due to her disability (e.g. problems with climbing and maintaining balance) and distrust. Lilia values peace, so she would be best off in a family without children.

Usposobienie: Lilię życie nie potraktowało sprawiedliwie. Ta puszysta, czarno-biała kotka mierzy się z niepełnosprawnością ruchową. Ma problemy z nóżkami, dlatego chodzenie sprawia jej trudność. Jednakże wciąż cieszy się życiem, lubiąc wygrzewać się w Słońcu i odpoczywać w spokojnych miejscach. Lilia dobrze toleruje inne koty, lecz wymaga socjalizacji z ludźmi.

About Lilia

What life with Lilia looks like

Lilia is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu in Poznan.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
