Bekas
German Shepherd · Female · Adult · 8 years
Characteristics: calm, friendly and reserved Suitable for: people/families with older children, also happily as a second dog Weight: approx. 25 kg Location: Animais Como Nós – ACN (Portugal) "Bekas" – a second chance at a happy life The female dog "Bekas" has already had to endure terrible things in her life. In 2020, she was rescued from the street in Portugal by our animal welfare volunteer Tania. "Bekas" was wrapped all over her body in steel wire and deeply traumatized. Since her rescue, "Bekas" has lived in a shelter near Porto. Our dedicated animal welfare volunteers there have done everything they can to make sure she lacks nothing: regular veterinary visits, daily care, food and attention. But however hard they tried, life in a shelter is not the life they wish for "Bekas." In November 2025, something wonderful happened: a very kind person got in touch and took the extremely fearful "Bekas" into their home. For the first time, she gets to experience what a home feels like. Cautiously and curiously, she observes her new life and already enjoys the soft couch and the peace of the house. Of course, "Bekas" still needs time to build further trust – but she is on a good path. 🐾 So that "Bekas" can remain with her foster carers in Portugal, she needs our support. Our animal welfare volunteers continue to cover the costs of food and routine veterinary visits. ♥ Who would like to support Bekas? Every contribution counts and allows her to stay exactly where she feels safe and receives what she urgently needs: patience, stability and love. 🐾 With heartfelt thanks for every donation – on behalf of "Bekas" and our partner association "Animais Como Nós."
