Lilien

Female · Young · 3 years

Details: Name: Lilien Age: approx. 1.5 years (estimated birth date: 2023. 05. 07.) Intake: end of June 2024 Sex: female Vaccinated: yes Microchipped: yes Spayed: not yet Release: Lilien arrived at the shelter at the end of June this year, after she, quite unexpectedly, jumped through the window of a house in Kunhegyes, hoping to find shelter from the storm there. Unfortunately, she could not stay there at all; she was only able to rest for a few hours before she was brought to the shelter, which is always full to capacity anyway… She is no longer a puppy but a young adolescent girl who longs terribly for human closeness. She is sweet and friendly with every two-legged creature, and intelligence simply sparkles in her clever eyes. Unfortunately, at some point a nasty wound developed on her back, where the fur will probably never grow back, but let's call it her beauty mark! She has a bit of terrier blood in her, so she is a true climbing and jumping champion; an ordinary fence is no obstacle for her, and viewed from another angle, you could say she could be the uncrowned queen of agility courses! Lilien is barely 1 year old (estimated birth date: 2023. 05. 07.), of medium build, with a complete vaccination record and a microchip, so all that remains is spaying, and she could move straight into her dream home, where a wealth of experiences awaits her, because she would fit into an active, sporty family that enjoys burning calories in no time at all!

About Lilien

What life with Lilien looks like

Lilien is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Méda az Állatokért Kunhegyes in Hungary.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilien, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilien?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Méda az Állatokért Kunhegyes handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilien on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilien if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Méda az Állatokért Kunhegyes will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lilien already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilien isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Méda az Állatokért Kunhegyes early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilien and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
