Lilly &#038

British Shorthair · Female · Adult · 5 years

Breed: British Shorthair Gender: 2x female Birthdate: June 2021 Color: black + gray Lilly and Mia have lived together since they were small in a suitable apartment with a balcony. Both are cuddly and enjoy being stroked. Since the family had new additions, one of the cats has become a bit messy. Medical causes have been ruled out by the veterinarian. Therefore, a new, suitable home is now being sought for both of them. Lilly (black) enjoys being brushed and often requests it. When she wants her privacy or to sleep, she retreats. She approaches new situations and visitors with some reserve, observing everything from a distance before initiating contact. Mia (gray) is the more sensitive of the two. She likes to snuggle and enjoys hiding in boxes. She is open, curious, and approaches visitors with friendliness. We provide mediation assistance and hope that the two sisters find a suitable home. Lilly and Mia are personally unknown to us; all information comes from their family, who currently live in 74254 Offenau. Interested parties can contact us by email. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

About Lilly &#038

What life with Lilly &#038 looks like

Lilly &#038 is a small adult british shorthair cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Heilbronn in Heilbronn.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilly &#038, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilly &#038?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Heilbronn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilly &#038 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilly &#038 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Heilbronn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilly &#038 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilly &#038 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Heilbronn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilly &#038 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
