Lilly &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

mixed breed Lilly could be rehomed in June 2022. I am female, vaccinated, microchipped, and born around 2010. I have been waiting since December 2022 for a new home. I am approximately 35cm tall. My caretakers say about me: Lilly came to us from a friend's association. She is a magical and delicate female dog who gets along well with fellow animals. We appreciate that she could also get used to cats. Currently, she is in a long-term parasite treatment, which could also be continued in the new home. The association has arranged for a follow-up examination, and the costs will be covered by them. Lilly walks well on a leash, as this is quite new for her, so initial sensitivity and gentle handling are required. Several small circles at the beginning are sufficient for her personality. She is concerned with cleanliness and loves to be cuddled when she has gained trust. Then, she will sometimes ask for more attention—she wants to be seen. We are looking for a quiet and cozy home for Lilly, and any existing children should understand this. A house with a garden would be ideal, but an apartment living situation is also possible. Who would like to show our delicate Lilly how magical and wonderful it can be to have a family and a real home?

About Lilly &#8211

What life with Lilly &#8211 looks like

Lilly &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilly &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilly &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilly &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilly &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilly &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilly &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilly &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
