Adopt Lilly

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 2 months

Meet Lilly Lilly arrived into our care over 3 years ago, emaciated, scared and in a critical condition. Her babies were just 6 weeks old, Lilly had developed mastitis which was left untreated, narcotic mastitis her stomach was riddled with holes where her skin was dying and severe infection had set in. She was jaundiced, her life was in the balance. We were advised that the 24/48 hours following admission were critical. The wonderful team at Lagan valley vets have worked tirelessly she’s now ready to find a home of her own. Lilly deserves a family to give her so much love. Our vets have said Tiger Lily is an absolute sweetheart who will steal anyone’s heart. A very special girl who deserves the best home. It is going to break my heart when she leaves us for her forever home but she deserves a life of luxury. Hopefully I can get some updates on her along the way. Despite all she has come through she loves nothing more than love and affection! She enjoys sniffing food out of puzzles and balls. She is crate trained and settles very well. Lily would need to learn her basic commands, she is smart and food orientated so it shouldn’t be a problem. Someone who could give her plenty of walks and playtime. Despite all the treats and dinners she’s been getting she loves to nosey about for more so probably best to continue with a crate while being left alone. She does bark at men although seems content with them when outside of a kennel. I think a home without young children due to her unknown background and her high energy levels would be ideal. Lilly has shown no interest in other dogs. Can you help make Lilly’s future bright

About Lilly

What life with Lilly looks like

Lilly is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
