Adopt Lily

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel · Female · Young · 2 years

31-05-26 Lily is a lovely girl who has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is feeling a little worried and overwhelmed by all the changes in her life at the moment, but despite this she has a happy, waggy tail and gets excited to see us, showing what a sweet nature she has. Lily is still finding her paws and will need plenty of love, patience and reassurance to help her build her confidence and come out of her shell. She is looking for a calm and quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace and continue to learn that the world is a safe and happy place. She takes great comfort from the company of other dogs and will need a kind and confident resident dog in her new home to be her friend and help guide her as she adjusts to her new life. We would consider homing her with gentle, dog savvy teenagers. Lily has never lived in a home before, so her adopters will need to be patient and understanding as she learns all about home life, including new skills like house training and walking on a lead and harness. Everything will be new to her, but with gentle guidance and encouragement she should make lovely progress. She is a very sweet little girl with lots of potential and we are sure that in the right home she will blossom into a wonderful companion. Our vet has noted that she has a cyst on her side which they will assess at the time of her spay. Lily has a travel document. GOL This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Lily

What life with Lily looks like

Lily is a young adult cavalier king charles spaniel dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lily, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lily?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lily on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lily if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lily already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lily isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lily and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
