adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Lilya has found her home! Her story: Lilya – sadly, our completely forgotten soul. She was dropped off with a bunch of puppies in two cardboard boxes in the middle of nowhere. All the puppies have already been adopted, but since Lilya was smaller than the others, she ended up in another foster home in Romania. Now she needs to leave the foster home quickly, and that's where we come in. We are looking for a quick and wonderful place for her. Lilya is an absolute dream dog with her brownish-red fur and green eyes, a real eye-catcher. We are unclear why she was forgotten, but we find her so wonderful! Lilya is a cheerful and absolutely lovable dog who loves people and is happy to cuddle. Lilya is puppy-like playful, she gets along well with other dogs and loves to play with them. Lilya still needs to learn the entire dog ABC for a happy life in a loving family; house training, leash walking, and being alone are still foreign words to her. Puberty is also approaching for her – here she needs people who meet her with a lot of love, patience, understanding, and loving consequence, and forgive her one or two mishaps. During puberty, she will surely test boundaries and perhaps "forget" some things she has learned. A visit to a positively working dog training class will also help Lilya master this phase and she will develop into a wonderful companion for life. Lilya travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She has an EU pet passport and will only be transferred after a positive Leonie! You named Lilya! Date: 28.02.

Vielen Dank Leonie! Du hast Lilya ihren Namen geschenkt! Stand: 28.02.2025

About Lilya

What life with Lilya looks like

Lilya is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilya, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilya?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilya on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilya if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilya already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilya isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilya and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
