Adopt LIMBO

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

Estimated birth date: December 2025 Brief info: cheerful, attentive, people-oriented, lively, curious, puppy-type playful, cuddly, compatible, family+, older children+ LIMBO was born in December 2025 and was brought to the animal shelter by a young couple in early April 2026, claiming they found the puppy on the street. However, the little puppy had a new matching harness with a leash, which led to the suspicion that it might be their own dog. LIMBO has a bilateral nictitating membrane prolapse (also known as Cherry Eye), which needs to be operated on. The cost for this procedure may have been the reason for the surrender… In the shelter, LIMBO shows itself as a cheerful, lively, curious, playful, people-oriented, and affectionate puppy, ready to start an exciting and colorful life. For the cheerful LIMBO, we are looking for adventurous people with solid dog experience who are willing to embark on the "puppy" adventure – with everything that comes with it: playing, snuggling, toiling, but of course also a consistent and loving upbringing. Please also keep in mind that a puppy during the first months is a full-time job and requires 24-hour care. This must be guaranteed in any potential adoption. LIMBO will move into a new home microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and with an EU pet passport. Do you want to give this sweet puppy boy a great home? Then we look forward to your message!

About LIMBO

What life with LIMBO looks like

LIMBO is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Pfotenretter Ungarn in Pfotenretter.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting LIMBO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about LIMBO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenretter Ungarn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw LIMBO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt LIMBO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenretter Ungarn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is LIMBO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if LIMBO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenretter Ungarn early rather than rehoming privately; they know LIMBO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
