Adopt Lina

European Shorthair · Unknown · Young · 3 years

Lina came to our animal shelter due to unsanitary conditions. Since being with us, she has not shown this behavior anymore. Therefore, we suspect that she did not feel comfortable in her previous home—especially in the shared housing with her brother. We would like to give Lina a new start as a single cat so she can finally enjoy her own space and peace. At the same time, she should have the opportunity for a supervised outdoor walk, allowing her to decide which cats she wants to socialize with outside. Lina is a sensitive cat who needs time to settle in and build trust. Her future owners should give her this time and not expect immediate closeness. A quiet home without much commotion would be ideal for her, allowing her to feel safe and unfold at her own pace. Lina is looking for owners with patience and understanding who will give her the chance for a relaxed new beginning. If you can offer her this space, you will see how she gradually regains her trust. Do you think you are the right person for Lina or would you like to get to know her better?. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Lina

What life with Lina looks like

Lina is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierschutzverein für Tirol in Innsbruck.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein für Tirol handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein für Tirol will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein für Tirol early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
