Lina

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 2 months

Lina is a small puppy. People, house, leash, traffic and a regular family routine will provide her with many things she has not known before. Lina's story began in a box with nine siblings. Her mother Novia was given up during a spaying campaign in Bologa. Nobody told the helpers that she had just given birth to puppies. It was only hours later that the ten newborns were brought in. Novia was physically exhausted at this point and could not sufficiently nurse the large litter. The puppies were supported with a bottle, and then a second mother helped: Fiene had two babies herself and took several of Novia's little ones in addition. Together with the animal protectors, she gave them the chance to grow up. Unfortunately, two of the ten puppies died. Lina is one of the eight siblings who survived - a small dog girl whose life is just beginning. Like every puppy, Lina still has to learn a lot. Housebreaking, walking on a leash, driving a car, household noises, visitors, keeping quiet and even staying alone for a short time are not things that a young dog automatically masters. All of this should be built up step by step and with patience. Equally important are sufficient sleep and rest phases - a puppy does not have to be constantly busy. And puberty will come at some point. Then, previously learned things can suddenly be questioned again, concentration can fluctuate, and smells or other dogs can suddenly be more interesting than the person on the other end of the leash. This is a normal part of development. Loving consistency, clear structures and a little humor help through this time much better than pressure or punishment. Optically, Lina could have a share of a livestock guardian dog. Livestock guardian dogs were bred to act independently, observe their surroundings attentively and make decisions without constant human guidance. Therefore, independence, vigilance and territorial behavior may become more pronounced with increasing age. This is not "disobedience", but can be part of their original task. Therefore, we are looking for people who deal with livestock guardian dogs and their needs before adoption. A rather rural home with enough space and ideally a securely fenced garden would be especially nice. Clear, fair rules, peace, patience and an upbringing without harshness are important. A positively working dog school, preferably with experience with livestock guardian dogs or their crossbreeds, can accompany the development sensibly. Since Lina is still growing, we cannot reliably predict her later size and final development. Therefore, whoever decides for her should not only see the cute puppy, but also the adult female dog that she will become one day. Lina is chipped, vaccinated, dewormed and flea-free. She is ready to travel at the end of October and travels with her EU pet passport. She will be placed after a positive preliminary check, with a protection contract and against a deposit. We would also be happy to find a suitable foster home for her. Many thanks to the namesake Michaela, who gave Lina her name. Status: 17.09.2026 Further information on the topic of preliminary check and deposit

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Lina

What life with Lina looks like

Lina is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
