Linda Cayo

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten · 11 months

Animal Welfare Advocate: Desislava Bogdanova Born: approx. September 2025 Gender: female / male Location: Bulgaria Spayed/Neutered: yes FIV Test: negative FeLV Test: negative Disabilities: none Compatible with: Children: no Cats: yes Dogs: no Requirements: exclusively indoor living, NO outdoor access Balcony or terrace desirable (if available, secure fencing is required) Linda and Cayo had a rocky start to life: they were born on the street. Their refuge was a dark basement, accessible only through a tiny hole. Yet the two little kittens grew quickly—and soon the hole became dangerously tight. They almost lost their lifesaving shelter. Their mom is probably a shy stray cat, whom Desislava hopefully will soon be able to catch for spaying/neutering to prevent further suffering. But for Linda and Cayo, the trembling is now over—they’re finally safe. As true street children, Linda and Cayo have so far had little chance to experience how beautiful and secure life can be with humans. That’s why both are still very shy—especially the sensitive Cayo. While sweet Linda, after a few days, took a leap of faith and cautiously allowed her first gentle pettings, Cayo needs a bit more patience. If things move too fast for him, he sometimes quietly grumbles (hisses), but that’s just his way of saying, “I need a little more space—I’m still a bit scared.” The little treasure is absolutely not aggressive! Both are already making progress and show every day how much they’d love to trust. For Linda and Cayo, we wish for a calm, peaceful home where they can settle in without any rush or hustle and bustle. Many visitors or parties would be overwhelming for them, and even small children would be too much for them. Teenagers who are considerate, however, would be perfectly fine. Most importantly, we’re looking for people who already have experience with shy cats or are willing to open their hearts to Linda and Cayo and give them all the time they need. These sweet velvet paws need patience, understanding, and lots of love.

About Linda Cayo

What life with Linda Cayo looks like

Linda Cayo is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Linda Cayo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Linda Cayo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Linda Cayo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Linda Cayo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Linda Cayo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Linda Cayo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Linda Cayo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
