Lingo

Poodle · Male · Adult · 5 years

Lingo is a small boy with great integrity who is looking for a new loving home. His owner says: "Lingo has been with us since he was a puppy. When he feels safe, he is a happy, kind and easy-going dog who enjoys both fun and rest. He loves adventures in nature, walks, running freely, playing with sticks or balls and using his nose. Lingo is generally an insecure individual who is a bit too cute for his own good. He is forward and curious when meeting people, but that doesn't mean he wants to be petted. Therefore, it's important to always read his signals. With us, all everyday handling such as nail clipping, grooming, ear cleaning and showering works well. At the vet, he usually wears a muzzle. He can guard chew toys and doesn't want to be disturbed when resting. He is nice to walk with and rarely reacts when we pass other dogs. He is not used to being around other dogs and may say no if someone comes forward. He is used to having his people close by and can become whiny and wait at the door if he is left alone. Lingo is being rehomed because he should not live with children. We want him to come to a quieter home where he can relax and enjoy life."

About Lingo

What life with Lingo looks like

Lingo is a medium-sized adult poodle dog waiting at Hundar Utan Hem in Stockholm.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lingo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lingo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundar Utan Hem handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lingo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lingo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundar Utan Hem will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lingo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lingo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundar Utan Hem early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lingo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
